Romney: Trump Will Be Re-Elected in 2020

He once called Donald Trump "a con man," but Mitt Romney on Thursday night predicted that Trump would "easily" win his party’s presidential nomination in 2020 and "solidly" win a second term.

politico
DEER VALLEY, UTAH — Republican Senate candidate Mitt Romney bluntly predicted here on Thursday evening that President Donald Trump would win reelection in 2020.

Addressing a group of major GOP donors, Romney — who bitterly collided with Trump during the 2016 campaign and implored his party to nominate someone else — also said Trump would easily capture the Republican Party’s 2020 nomination.

He said Trump’s political fortunes would be bolstered by a pair of factors: an improving economy and the likelihood that Democrats would choose an outside-the-mainstream candidate.
“I think President Trump will be re-nominated by my party easily, and I think he’ll be reelected solidly,” Romney said.

“I think that not just because of the strong economy and because people are increasingly seeing rising wages, but I think it’s also true because I think our Democrat friends are likely to nominate someone who is really out of the mainstream of American thought and will make it easier for a president who is presiding over a growing economy,” he added.

Romney has not exactly had good things to say about President Trump.

Here are a few reminders of the terrible things Mitt has said about the Trumpster

FLASHBACK -----> Mitt Romney Goes On Jimmy Kimmel To Trash Trump

'Donald Trump should not be leader of the free world' Romney said...

Mitt Romney sits down with Kimmel to tell the world why Trump must be stopped. The audience cheers.

He calls Trump a "phony" and goes after him on his tax returns. Again, he doesn't mention defeating Hillary Clinton, not once,  just Trump.

FLASHBACK: Mitt Romney Records Anti-Trump Robocall For Marco Rubio, Says Trump would lose to Hillary Clinton

Continuing the non-stop attack on Donald Trump.

In his new role as Donald Trump’s chief adversary, former Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney has turned his alarm-fueled message into a robocall on behalf of struggling GOP contender Sen. Marco Rubio, NBC News has confirmed.

Romney’s warning is coming to a phone near you in four states voting Tuesday: Michigan, Idaho, Hawaii and Mississippi.

In the call, which was first reported by the New York Times, Romney notifies listeners that he is calling for Rubio and asks them to choose “a candidate who can defeat Hillary Clinton and who can make us proud.”

“If we Republicans were to choose Donald Trump as our nominee, I believe that the prospects for a safe and prosperous future would be greatly diminished — and I’m convinced Donald Trump would lose to Hillary Clinton,” Romney says.

A source close to Romney told NBC News Monday that the former Massachusetts governor “has offered and is glad to help Senator Marco Rubio, Senator Ted Cruz, and Governor John Kasich in any way he can.

Flashback June 2016
Romney Hosts Group of #NeverTrumpers At Utah Retreat to discuss ways to take-down Trump

WND Reported
 6/3/2016
Mitt Romney, the twice-failed Republican candidate for president, has kicked off a weekend convention of fellow-minded “NeverTrump-ers,” hosting a retreat at a secluded Utah spot so they can gather and talk without worry of media coverage and condemnation about how they should proceed politically, if the billionaire businessman wins the White House.

It’s called the “Experts and Enthusiasts Summit,” or “E2” summit, and it’s set at the Stein Eriksen Lodge Deer Valley in Park City, the Washington Post reported.

Reportedly, those in attendance will talk about their plans to take down Trump with a third-party candidate. Such talk was going strong in recent weeks, fueled by Weekly Standard neoconservative editor Bill Kristol. But Kristol’s top pick, National Review writer David French, opted against a run, sending the “NeverTrump” crowd back to square one.

The retreat is seen as a hopeful new stand against Trump, with about 300 of the party’s establishment attending, Breitbart said.
