Kasich Wins Ohio, Now Only Needs 110% of Remaining Delegates to Be Republican Nominee

Big night for Kasich. His skip the first 22 states strategy seems to be going as planned.

Governor Kasich had 63 delegates going into tonight

John Kasich will win the GOP primary in Ohio, NBC projects.

Kasich, sounding a unifying message, was campaigning Monday with 2012 GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney. Kasich's home-state bid was helped by rival Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida, who urged his Ohio supporters to pull the lever for Kasich if they hope for a chance to stop Trump.

“I feel really good about it,” Kasich told WLWT Monday. “If I'm the nominee, I'm going to win the general election. We just have to take care of these primary states and see if we get enough delegates to go the convention strong and emerge as the adult. We have to bring Americans together, we can't be calling names or having fistfights at our rallies or demonizing people or separating from ourselves, that's not the way to fix the country.”
