(NEW YORK) ABC News- Some fans of Phil Robertson plan to show their support for the embattled Duck Dynasty patriarch by eating at Chick-fil-A on Jan. 21.They're calling their campaign "National Chick-PHIL-A Day," though the restaurant chain says it is not involved.

What's the connection?  As you know, Robertson has caused a stir with anti-gay comments he recently made to GQ magazine. Chick-fil-A faced a similar controversy last year, when its owner voiced his opposition to same-sex marriage.

A Facebook page for the campaign calls on supporters to, "Join the movement to support Chick-fil-a and Phil Robertson by wearing cam/Duck Commander gear to eat at a Chick-fil-a on January 21, 2014."  It also declares, "Stand For Free Speech. Sit For Good Food."

So far, more than 42,000 people have committed to the cause.

The Facebook page notes the campaign is not affiliated with Chick-fil-A. Nevertheless, the chain tells TMZ it is not a sponsor of the campaign, which it says was created by an "independent group."

Robertson has been suspended by the network home of Duck Dynasty, A&E, due to his remarks.  However, that didn't stop A&E from airing a Duck Dynasty marathon on Christmas Day.
