U.S. Border Patrol Apprehend 105 Illegal Immigrants Wednesday Southwest of Tucson

Border Patrol agents apprehended 105 illegal immigrants Wednesday in the Baboquivari Mountains southwest of Tucson.

At 6:30 a.m., agents using a mobile surveillance system spotted what appeared to be three groups of illegal border crossers moving up into the Baboquivari Mountains close to the U.S.-Mexico border, said Border Patrol spokesman David Jimarez.

Agents called for help from a Customs and Border Protection Air and Marine helicopter. When the helicopter spotted the groups, they bunched together into one group and by 11 a.m. agents had apprehended them. They were a mix of illegal immigrants from Mexico, Central and South America, he said.They were taken to the Tucson station to be fingerprinted and set up for return to their home countries.
