Sarah Palin Joins GOP Listening Tour Says Minority Whip Cantor

May Meet Up With John McCain On The Tour.....

KTUU ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- Gov. Sarah Palin has joined a list of Republicans who will take part in listening tours across the country.
House Minority Whip Eric Cantor, R-Va., on Monday said Palin has joined the panel list for the National Council for a New America, which was created to rebrand the party's image.

The listening tour was launched Saturday. Former presidential candidate Mitt Romney, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and Cantor held a town-hall style meeting in Arlington, Va., where they heard about people's concerns on issues from the economy and health care to the rising costs of college tuition.

The council, which plans listening sessions in other cities, also includes Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour and Sen. John McCain.

The spokesperson for Palin's political action committee, SarahPAC, said Palin was honored to participate, as long as everyone understood Alaska comes first.

Spokesperson Meghan Stapleton said in an e-mail to The Associated Press that Palin "is focused on moving Alaska forward and pushing for her goals which include providing energy independence and security for Alaskans and Americans
