Sen. Mark Begich’s first TV ad of his re-election campaign takes aim at a favorite Democratic target of late: The billionaire Koch brothers.
“First it was a D.C. actress pretending to be an Alaskan,” says the ad’s narrator. “Now ads attacking Mark Begich on a carbon tax have been called ‘false’ and ‘not true.’ Who’s behind the attacks?” The ad then features people blaming the Kochs for the closure of an Alaskan oil refinery.
Near the end of the ad, one man says: “I don’t go down to tell them what to do, I expect them not to come up to Alaska to tell us what to do.”
The latest PPP poll on the Alaska senate race had Begich leading by just 4 points.
