Video: Obama Speech at American Legion - Applause Lines Fall Flat

President Obama spoke today at the American Legion’s 96th National Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina. It looked like he didn't really want to be there and if you listen to the reaction of the convention goers to his speech, they might not have wanted to be there either.

Here's a few clips put together, some of them he barely gets a golf clap.

Iranian Weapons Delivered to Iraqi Kurdish Forces

This is what happens they ask for weaponry from the United States to fight ISIS  and are put on hold by the Obama Administration. Kurdistan's President Massoud Barzani says his forces will fight Islamic State with weapons supplied by Iran.

The Kurds (our allies) should have been supplied weapons when ISIS first rolled through the City of Mosul back on June 10th.

(Reuters) - Iran has supplied weapons and ammunition to Iraqi Kurdish forces, Kurdistan President Massoud Barzani said Tuesday at a joint press conference with Iranian foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in Arbil, capital of Iraq's Kurdish region.

The direct arming of Kurdish forces is a contentious issue, because some Iraqi politicians suspect Kurdish leaders have aspirations to break away from the central government completely. The move could also be seen by some as a prelude to Iran's taking a more direct role in broader Iraqi conflict.

Militants from the Islamic State have clashed with Kurdish peshmerga fighters in recent weeks and taken control of some areas on the periphery of Iraqi Kurdistan.

Rick Perry Hires Top McCain 2008 Aide Steve Schmidt

Why in the world would Perry hire Schmidt?

Republican strategist and former John McCain consultant Steve Schmidt has joined the team helping Texas Gov. Rick Perry with the strategy around his indictment, POLITICO has learned.

Schmidt is the latest addition to a team that Perry has been expanding with legal hands.

The Republican governor, a potential 2016 presidential candidate, has been indicted for allegedly abusing his power by vetoing funding to the office of a Democratic prosecutor who wouldn’t resign after a drunken driving arrest.

“We’re bringing in the best of the best to help us handle this … this is serious, we’ve got to handle it with the appropriate measures,” Perry spokesman Jeff Miller said.

Schmidt did not respond to an email seeking comment.

Earlier this week, POLITICO’s Mike Allen reported that Perry had hired former Clinton White House special counsel Mark Fabiani to a team that already included Republican lawyer Ben Ginsberg

This guy Schmidt has taken swipes at Perry more than a few times in the past few years
Here's just one example.
After Rick Perry made his gaffe in the Republican debate in 2011, Schmidt said Rick Perry's 'campaign is over' and called it 'a grand finale in a ruinous series of public appearances'

Marc Lamont Hill Belts Hillary For #Ferguson Silence: 'She'll Go To Selma in 2008 and Clap with Black People and Put on a Fake Accent, But Now She Says Nothing'

Marc Lamont Hill goes off: "Hillary Clinton should be ashamed of herself.”

Hill was on CNN with Ben Ferguson talking about how Hillary Clinton ignored a reporter's question about Ferguson at a book signing in the Hamptons

“The Clintons have made so much of their political bones on the backs of black voters, getting black support, getting black love, identifying black causes. Hillary Clinton will go to Selma in 2008 and clap with black people and put on a fake southern accent and pretend to identify with black struggle and black pain. But now that real black issues are on the table, now that real black struggle is in the public eye, she has said nothing,”

ISIS Demands $6M Ransom for 26-Year-Old American Woman Captured While Doing Relief Work in Syria

This is what happens when you start negotiating with terrorists.

ABC News Brian Ross-
A third American hostage held by ISIS has been identified as a 26-year-old American woman who was kidnapped a year ago while doing humanitarian relief work in Syria. The terror group is demanding $6.6 million and the release of U.S. prisoners for the life of the young woman, who the family requested not be identified.

She is the third of at least four Americans who were known to be held by ISIS, the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria. American journalist James Foley was executed by the group in a video that appeared online last week. Another writer, Steven Sotloff, was seen alive but under duress in the same footage.

In addition to the multi-million dollar ransom, the terror group has also demanded that the U.S. release Aafia Siddiqui, an MIT-trained neuroscientist who was convicted by the U.S. in 2010 of trying to kill U.S. officials two years before, according to a supporter of Siddiqui who has been in contact with the hostage's family.

The details of the ISIS ransom demand and the abduction of the young aid worker were disclosed by a close friend of the unnamed hostage family in statements to ABC News Monday.

Each of the three known surviving American hostages in ISIS's hands have been threatened with death since Foley's execution, sources have told ABC News

CNN: Man May Have Recorded Shots that Killed Michael Brown [AUDIO]

Audio records 11 shots, but Brown was shot 6 times.
The shots were recorded during a man's online video chat

A newly released audio recording of what is purported to be the gunshots fired at Michael Brown Jr. from a police officer in Ferguson, Missouri on Aug. 9, appears to show 11 shots fired.

The 12-second audio was played on CNN Monday night, and a lawyer for the man who recorded it said the FBI has been given a copy.

The recording was made during an online video chat, but the video portion was not released. Behind the sound of a man talking to someone on a chat website can be heard seven shots quickly fired. After a short pause four more shots are heard.

Attorney Lopa Blumenthal told CNN that the man who made the recording did not realize its importance at first until he played it for a friend, who then contacted her.

Blumenthal said the man lived "very close" to the scene of the shooting, but did not go outside to check on the situation until sometime after it had occurred. It was at that time he realized he may have recorded the shots

Allen West: Josh Earnest Making Excuses For Obama Comparing ISIS to JV Team "Incoherent, Incompetent and Absolutely Idiotic' (Video)

Earnest: Obama's JV comment was not about ISIS, it was about a range of extremists around the world

Allen West pounces, saying that what the Obama Administration is trying to define ISIS in a term or ideology that fits into their own national security strategy so they don't have to take action. West compares the Obama Administration to what was done in WW2 when Hitler was allowed to take Czechoslovakia

West tells Greta that threats from terrorist groups should be dealt with in its infantile stages but the Obama Administration simply doesn't want to have to contend with this enemy.

Lt. Col. Ralph Peters: ‘Obama Expected His Charm Would Work on Islamic Terrorists’

Lt. Col. Ralph Peters was on “The Kelly File tonight to discuss Gen. Martin Dempsey’s mixed messages on the threat of ISIS to America.

“Ralph, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs is not supposed to be messing with the information in order to assuage political concerns,” Megyn Kelly said. “So what do you believe is the likelihood that somebody took Gen. Dempsey out behind the woodshed over the weekend and said, 'What are you saying the threat is imminent for?’”

“Gen. Dempsey committed the greatest sin you can commit in the Obama administration last week – he told the truth,” Peters said, explaining that Dempsey told the public that ISIS is a growing threat to the U.S., there’s no real border between Syria and Iraq, and ISIS can’t be defeated without going into Syria.

Dempsey’s previous remarks didn’t fit with the administration’s “JV” narrative, Peters said. Now, “with a wave of the president’s magic golf club,” Peters said that the narrative has changed back

Malaysia Airlines Losing $2 Million a Day

Flights empty.

Malaysia Airlines is facing dire economic straits after being involved in the two worst air tragedies of the year. Based on some recent photos taken by its few remaining passengers, some flights are operating nearly empty.

In March, Flight 370, scheduled to travel from from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing, disappeared with 12 crew and 227 passengers on board — which remains a mystery.

Then, last month, tragedy struck again when Flight 17 was shot down while in Ukrainian airspace. All 283 passengers and 15 crew aboard were killed.

Blame for the second tragedy cannot be placed squarely on Malaysia Airlines, as many major carriers routinely fly over conflict zones. But the loss of lives was inextricably linked to the airline by people around the world.

The carrier, which was operating in the red for about five years before either of this year's tragedies, has continued operating despite the major damage to its reputation. "The southeast Asia air carrier burns its cash reserves at nearly $2.16 million each day," wrote Howard University professor Oliver McGee. "Operations are losing about $1.6 million a day."

Obama Adm. Approves Air Surveillance Of ISIS in Syria

Laying groundwork for Syria strike? 'Could be

But there "is no decision yet to do strikes"

WASHINGTON — President Obama has authorized surveillance flights over Syria, a precursor to potential airstrikes there, but a mounting concern for the White House is how to target the Sunni extremists without helping President Bashar al-Assad.

Defense officials said on Monday evening that the Pentagon is sending in manned and unmanned reconnaissance flights over Syria, using a combination of aircraft, including drones and possibly U2 spy planes. Mr. Obama approved the flights over the weekend, a senior administration official said.

The flights are a significant step toward direct American military action in Syria, an intervention that could alter the battlefield in the nation’s three-year civil war.

Administration officials said that the United States had no plans to notify the Assad government of the planned flights. Mr. Obama, who has repeatedly called for the ouster of Mr. Assad, is loath to be seen as aiding the Syrian government, even inadvertently.
As a result the Pentagon is drafting military options that would strike the militant Islamic State in Iraq and Syria, or ISIS, near the largely erased border between those two nations, as opposed to more deeply inside Syria. The administration is also moving to bolster American support for the moderate Syrian rebels who view Mr. Assad as their main foe.
