Video Shows Man Breaching Security Perimeter, Running to White House

Here is the video

Part of the White House was evacuated after someone jumped the fence at the executive mansion.

A Secret Service agent at the scene says that much of the West Wing of the White House was evacuated during the incident Friday evening.

Witnesses who were there Friday evening to cover the president's signing of a bill say they saw a man jump the fence to the White House and run close to the North Portico.

The person ran across the White House grounds shortly after President Barack Obama and his daughters left aboard a helicopter for the presidential retreat in Maryland, Camp David.

Members of the media were escorted out of the press briefing room and taken away from the premises.

As of 8 p.m. the evacuation was lifted as the individual was apprehended, according to a tweet from CBS affiliate WNEW.

TMZ Reporter Presses NFL Commissioner Goodell: 'We The Got Ray Rice Video With One Phone Call, You Guys Have a Whole Legal Department'

Great question from a TMZ reporter at today's NFL press conference. He asks Goodell why he didn't go to the casino himself. Basically saying, if Commissioner Goodell wanted to see the Ray Rice video, he could have and everybody knows it.

At a press conference in which he apologized for his handling of the Ray Rice domestic abuse scandal, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell was pressed by a TMZ reporter on why the league was not more curious to see the Ray Rice assault video.

"Why didn't you have the curiosity to go to the casino yourself?" Goodell was asked.

Goodell said Rice was suspended based on the first video of him dragging his then-fiance out of an elevator. He reiterated that the league wants to review how it can improve its investigations of such incidents.

Goodell argued that the league has always worked with law enforcement and has been cautious not to interfere with criminal investigations.

"I would have loved to have seen that tape," he said (Fox News)

U.S. Airstrike Video- Shock and Awe Over the Islamic State

Watch ISIS facilities, guns and trucks get reduced to rubble by U.S. bombs.

Republican Congressman: It's the 'Islamic' State, Not 'Methodist State or the Episcopalian State or the Baptist State'

"When Christians are told to convert to Islam or die, that would seem to fly in the face of the president's insistence that the Islamic State is not the Islamic"

Ditto that congressman Chabot of Ohio

Rep. Steve Chabot  said he's among the Americans who were "shocked" to hear President Barack Obama tell the nation that the Islamic State is not Islamic.

"You know, they don't call themselves the Methodist State or the Episcopalian State or the Baptist State. They're the Islamic State, and I think for good reason," Chabot told Secretary of State John Kerry at a hearing of the House Foreign Affairs Committee.

Bob Beckel on the Midterms: There's Going to Be An October Surprise That Has to Do With National Security

Beckel: 'It's going to shake things up'

The polls may suggest Republicans will see gains in this November’s elections, but former Democratic strategist Bob Beckel thinks they shouldn’t get too comfortable. The Five co-host mysteriously signaled Democrats have something up their sleeve.

“I’ll tell you: I would expect an October surprise,” Beckel said on Thursday. “I think I know what is — I’m not going to say it, but I think I know what it is — and it is going to shake things up, and it has to do with national security.”

Beckel’s secrecy comes as President Obama faces perhaps the most significant foreign-policy challenge of his presidency, the growing threat of the Islamic State

Bill Clinton: 'We Can't Win a Land War in Iraq, We Proved That'

Actually we did win a land war in Iraq Bill, and President Obama threw it away.

Here's Clinton, who we're told is the most brilliant politician in the world, saying we can't win, 'we proved that'

On Thursday night's "The Daily Show," Clinton said the United States has proven it can't win an Iraq war with boots on the ground, but that moderate Sunni tribal leaders working with an inclusive Iraqi government can.

"We can't win a land war in Iraq, we proved that"...But they can and we can help them," Clinton said. <

Bolton: 'If ISIS Went After the Aussies, They're Coming After Us Very Soon' (Video)

BOLTON: It's no wonder the president thinks it's going to take three years. In the meantime, ISIS isn't waiting around. The Australian government, in their largest anti-terrorism in Australian history, 800 police officers arrested a substantial number of suspected ISIS terrorists who were about to begin beheadings in Australia. If the ISIS people are coming after the Aussies, they're coming after us very soon, too.

There are over 100 billionaires with a net worth of +$10 Billion

Only 36 Percent of Americans Can Name the Three Branches of Government

Only 15 percent of Americans could correctly identify the chief justice of the United States

Wednesday marked national Constitution Day, the 227th anniversary of the signing of the U.S. Constitution. But only 36 percent of Americans can actually name the three branches of government the Constitution created.

That’s according to a new survey from the Annenberg Public Policy Center, and it shows a huge percentage of Americans might need to take a civics refresher course.

Only 38 percent of Americans knew the Republican Party controls the U.S. House of Representatives, while 17 percent think Democrats are still in charge. The number of people who knew Republicans were in charge has dropped 17 percent since the last time Annenberg asked, back in 2011, right after Republicans reclaimed control.

An identical number, 38 percent, knows Democrats run the Senate, while 20 percent believe Republicans control the upper chamber. Only 27 percent knew it takes a two-thirds majority of the House and Senate to override a presidential veto.

Report: Justice Department Finds No Evidence NJ Gov. Chris Christie Knew of Bridge Closures in Advance

According to federal sources speaking to WNBC, the investigation has turned up no evidence Chris Christie had any prior information or directed the closure of the traffic lanes.

So DOJ spent 9 months investigating a lane closure on the GW. But has no interest whatsoever in investigating the IRS scandal, Lois Lerner and missing hard drives, the VA and secret waiting lists, Benghazi, voter intimidation at polling stations and the CIA improperly searching Senate Intelligence Committee computers.

But a lane closure? They're on it.

NBC New York
The U.S. Justice Department investigation into New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie’s role in 'Bridgegate' has thus far uncovered no information he either knew in advance or directed the closure of traffic lanes on the George Washington Bridge, federal officials tell NBC 4 New York.
The September 2013 closures -- where several entrance lanes to the George Washington Bridge in Ft. Lee were shut down causing a traffic nightmare for commuters -- has been the subject of several federal and state investigations.

Federal officials caution that the investigation begun nine months ago is ongoing and that no final determination has been made, but say that after nine months authorities have uncovered no information Christie either knew in advance or ordered the closure of traffic lanes.

According to one former federal prosecutor, who had no involvement in any of the probes into the bridge closure, investigations of this kind will often turn up a solid connection early in the inquiry.
