Poll: 58% Say The Obama Administration Incompetent at Managing Government

Approval rating in the tank on a number of issues according to a Fox News Poll released this evening

Obama Approval/Disapproval by Issue

Health care-  41% Approve, 54% Disapprove
Economy-  40% Approve, 57% Disapprove
Foreign Policy-  35% Approve, 56% Disapprove
Israeli-Palestinian Conflict- Only 29% Approve, 56% Disapprove

Fox News
Has the Obama administration competently and effectively managed the government? A Fox News poll released Wednesday finds a majority of American voters says no -- including about a third of Democrats.

A 58-percent majority says the White House has not been competent at managing the federal government. Some 32 percent of Democrats join 67 percent of independents and 84 percent of Republicans in holding that view.

Forty percent of voters do say the administration has been competent at running the government.

Those marks are a bit worse than those Barack Obama receives on his overall job performance as president: 42 percent of voters approve, while 52 percent disapprove. Last month 41 percent approved and 54 percent disapproved (June 21-23, 2014).

Things look better for the White House when the questions focus on some specific issues. For example, 53 percent think the administration has been very (17 percent) or somewhat (36 percent) competent at managing the economy, while 45 percent disagree

*Q21- Setting aside how you feel about the policies of the Obama administration, all in all, doyou think the administration has been competent and effective in managing the federal government, or not?

Gingrich Blasts Bush Family For Cozying Up to the Clintons- It Could Result in a Hillary Presidency

'The most single damaging thing the Bush family has done to politics was to resuscitate Bill and Hillary Clinton and give them a bipartisan veneer'

'They moved him from left to center'

I think Newt's analysis is correct here...

nydailynews
Newt Gingrich has blasted the Bushes for being too nice and getting chummy with the Clintons, blaming the family’s friendliness for Hillary Clinton’s likely presidency.

George H.W. Bush’s non-profit partnerships with Bill Clinton and Bush’s hospitality toward his former foe have made the Clintons seem less extreme, Gingrich tells author Daniel Halper in his new book, “Clinton, Inc.”

“The most single damaging thing the Bush family has done to politics was to resuscitate Bill and Hillary Clinton and give them a bipartisan veneer,” Gingrich says, in the chapter “Seducing the Bushes.”

Another ex-GOP lawmaker agreed, saying the seal of approval from team Bush “legitimized” Clinton after his scandal plagued White House tenure.

“They moved him from the left to the center. And from that point on, he hasn’t looked back,” the unnamed source told Halper.

The unlikely alliance between the noble statesman and the smooth-talking Southerner actually started at the behest of then-President George W. Bush, who asked the pair to raise money for relief efforts following the 2004 Asian tsunami and Hurricane Katrina in 2005.

AJC Reported
Several news outlets are reporting a 17-year-old boy and his father have crashed in the Pacific during the teen's attempt to pilot a single-engine plane around the world in 30 days.

The Indianapolis Star reports the airplane of Plainfield, Indiana, teen Haris Suleman and his father, Babar, had taken off from Pago Pago in American Samoa when their plane crashed Wednesday, according to Annie Hyatt, a spokeswoman for the family.

Haris' body was recovered, but authorities were still searching for Babar.

According to a July 20 feature story in The Indianapolis Star, Haris had recently acquired his pilot's license and instrument rating, which authorized him to fly an aircraft over oceans.

The two left Indiana June 19 in hopes of breaking a world record and raising money for a nonprofit that builds schools in Pakistan. They planned to return home Sunday.

The Express Tribune reported that Hiba Suleman, Haris’ sister, confirmed on her Facebook account that the body of her brother had been recovered, while rescue teams are still searching for her father.

Kerry Flies Into Tel Aviv's Ben-Gurion Despite FAA Flight Ban

Rules don't apply to a 'military' plane. Right.

ABC News
Just hours after Secretary of State John Kerry told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that a temporary FAA ban on U.S. flight to Tel Aviv was in the best interest of Americans, Kerry himself flew into Tel Aviv’s Ben-Gurion Airport.

The FAA’s prohibition does not apply to military aircraft including the 757 Kerry is flying on. Plus, Kerry traveled to Israel to meet with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and others as part of his efforts to bring about a ceasefire to the fighting between Israel and Hamas in Gaza, spokesperson Jen Psaki said.

“Secretary Kerry is on the ground to continue his efforts to achieve a ceasefire and bring an end to the rocket attacks that led to the FAA notice,” she wrote in a statement.

The U.S. flight ban for Ben Gurion Airport went into effect Tuesday after a rocket from Hamas struck ground about a mile from the airport. It only affects U.S. carriers and has no effect on foreign airlines, but after the U.S. announcement numerous foreign air carriers announced they would also suspend fllights into the Israeli airport.

Netanyahu spoke on the phone with Kerry Tuesday night and urged him to help call off the ban. But according to Psaki, Kerry explained that the ban was intended only to keep American safe, not to discourage anyone from traveling to Israel.

WATCH: CNN Reporter Gets into Testy Exchange With RT Anchor: 'You Are Obsessed With Clearing Russia From Culpability'

Chris Cuomo of CNN grills Russia Today's Peter LaVelle on what happened days after the downing of MH17

Cuomo begins by asking LaVelle why Vladimir Putin has not come out and condemned how the crime scene and the dignity of the dead was handled. A simple question. But the RT anchor starts immediately defending Putin and shifting the blame, saying the question was ludicrous.

It goes downhill from there. Cuomo responds by saying, 'Peter, this is not something you should be flip about.'  The Russia Today anchor makes it quite obvious that his job in this interview is to defend Putin, and nothing else.

Family Asked To Leave Southwest Flight After Tweet

Man tweets agent was 'rude,' 15 minutes later he and his 2 young daughters were pulled off the plane

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — A Twin Cities man is upset about the way his family was treated on a Southwest Airlines flight because of a tweet.

Duff Watson says he was asked to de-board a flight from Denver to Minneapolis with his two kids on Sunday after an agent didn’t like a tweet he wrote about her service.

Watson and the agent had a disagreement before boarding initially. “I was left, you know, very upset, very embarrassed, very humiliated,” Watson said.

He’s an “A-List” passenger, which means he gets priority boarding. But a gate agent wouldn’t let his 6-year-old and 9-year-old board with him — so they’d all have to wait to board later.

“In leaving I said, you know, ‘Real nice way to treat an A-list. I’ll be sure to tweet about it,’” he said.

And that’s just what Watson did. “Something to the effect of, ‘Wow, rudest agent in Denver. Kimberly S, gate C39, not happy @SWA,’” he said.

Soon after getting to their seats, the family of three was asked to leave the plane.

This is just crazy. The agent said she felt her safety 'was threatened' by the tweet and the family was pulled off the plane.

2 Ukrainian Military Fighter Jets Shot Down By Rebels

Pro-Russian separatists, otherwise knows as Putin's paid thugs, shoot down 2 Ukrainian military fighter jets just a few days after downing a commercial airliner. I'm sure Putin knows nothing about this one either.

KIEV, Ukraine Fighting intensified in the rebel-controlled region of Ukraine on Wednesday, with military officials reporting that two Ukrainian Su-25 fighter jets had been shot down near the village of Dmytrivka in the east.

Few details of the latest downings were available. But before news of the jets’ loss emerged, a spokesman for Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council in Kiev said the military operation to suppress the insurgents was advancing in the east, with government troops having retaken two cities in the Luhansk region as they continued an aggressive push from the north and west.

Officials said rebels had blown up a road bridge, a railroad bridge and train tracks in the city of Gorlivka, and they reported continued fierce fighting along a section of the border with Russia that remains porous. Ukrainian forces are increasingly desperate to seal that border to prevent resupplies of weapons or new fighters from entering Ukraine.

Poll: 67% of Voters Say America More Divided Than Four Years Ago

Not a very good number for a president who was going to bring us together

rasmussenreports
Voters strongly believe the United States is a more divided nation these days, and they think both sides are to blame. Most are also ready to do something about it at the ballot box in November.

Sixty-seven percent (67%) of Likely U.S. Voters say America is a more divided nation than it was four years ago. A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that just seven percent (7%) think the country is less divided now, while 21% rate the level of division as about the same.

Among voters who see more division or about the same level of it, 35% believe President Obama is to blame. But 34% point the finger at Republicans in Congress instead. Twenty-three percent (23%) say they’re both to blame. Just five percent (5%) attribute the division to something else.
