Report: Israel Convinces Russia to Halt Syria S-300 Advanced Anti-Aircraft Missile Deal

Moscow official quoted saying that in exchange for halting missile sale, Putin asked Netanyahu to refrain from further attacks on Syria, The Sunday Times reports

haaretz:
Despite recent official statements, Russia will not complete a deal to sell advanced anti-aircraft missiles to Syria, a senior Russian official told The Sunday Times.

According to the report, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Vladimir Putin agreed earlier this month that Russia would not sell advanced S-300 anti-aircraft missile systems to Syria, and in return Israel would refrain from striking targets in Syria.

Israel was concerned that the missiles would fall into the hands of rebel groups hostile to it, the report said, and was able to persuade Putin that of the risk such a deal posed a threat to regional stability.

“We are very much concerned about this; the large Russian community in Israel is a major factor in our attitude to Israel, and we will not let this happen,” the Times quoted the Russian official as saying.

Two weeks ago, Netanyahu met with Putin in the Black Sea resort town of Suchi to discuss the crisis in Syria and the Iranian nuclear program. Netanyahu, accompanied by his national security adviser Ya'akov Amidror and Military Intelligence chief Maj. Gen. Aviv Kochavi, asked Putin not to supply S-300 missile systems to Syria.

CORVALLIS, Ore. – A 17-year-old West Albany High School student will be charged with attempted aggravated murder after the Benton County District Attorney said he planned to attack his school with bombs.
Grant Acord will be charged as an adult. Attempted aggravated murder is a Measure 11 crime. Acord was taken into custody on Thursday at his Albany home after police received a tip that Acord had built a device and targeted his high school. Saturday, District Attorney John Haroldson said Acord’s attack plan was patterned after the shooting at Columbine High School in 1999. “The charge of attempted aggravated murder requires that we prove that a substantial step was taken toward the completion of the crime. In this case, we would be relying upon evidence of plan.
Diagrams, checklists, a plan to use explosive devices and firearms to carry out a plan specifically modeled after the Columbine shootings,” Haroldson said. Haroldson would not say when Acord allegedly planned to carry out the attack because that’s part of the evidence in the case.
He said police found a timeline that included a specific date for the alleged attack to take place. Charges will be formally filed Tuesday morning. Monday is Memorial Day. “This is a case of a planned assault on a target-rich environment. And that target-rich environment is the West Albany High School.”

Thousands of athletes joined victims of the Boston Marathon bombings to run and walk the last mile of the race Saturday, reclaiming the triumph of crossing the finish line.

About 3,000 runners and bombing victims gathered in light rain to run the final mile of the world's oldest annual marathon, said Kathleen McGonagle, spokeswoman for those organizing the event known as OneRun. The 1-mile run began at Kenmore Square and ended at the official finish line, where participants hugged and cheered

Explosions near the finish line killed three people and wounded more than 260 on April 15.
OneRun honors victims and emergency workers and allows runners to reclaim the final mile, McGonagle said.

"For the runner that didn't get the chance to finish the marathon, this is the chance for them to experience the final mile that was taken away from them," McGonagle said.

Parents Believe Holy Image Appeared Behind Child Battling Leukemia [Photo]

Photo taken of young girl running with sparklers in the backyard.
This is how it came out. The girl had been battling cancer

Local Fox interview the parents in the video below.

KIRTLAND, OH (WOIO) -Believer or not, the image behind Erin Potter, a Kirtland girl battling leukemia, is stunning. It certainly stunned her mom.

"My reaction immediately, it's Mary, they hear us, she's there," Jen Potter said. The picture of Erin, running with sparklers, was taken in her backyard by a friend just after the family learned that Erin's cancer was back, for the third time, and she was facing a second bone marrow transplant.

"I didn't necessarily see it as a sign that Erin is fine and is going to walk out of this, but it's a sign that we're watching over her," Jen added. 19 Action News has documented Erin's cancer battle before. Kevin Potter, her father, actually introduced President Obama at a campaign stop, as the president spoke of the family's fight to stay insured to keep alive the fight for Erin. Just after the picture was taken, Erin had that transplant, and right now, she's cancer-free.

"I know she's not alone, I know we are not alone and people who don't want to believe it, that's OK," said Kevin Potter. "Whatever happened, you know something powerful and special was there with us."

The gag went even further with a section of the ballpark  reserved for fans with imaginary friends, a pretend kiss cam, an air guitar contest and an imaginary food fight.

"It's meant just to be a fun promotion and nothing more than that, and especially in January, we're trying to gear up for your season, sell some season tickets, sell some group outings. There's not a lot we can do to get attention in January," the team's General Manager said.

Ted Cruz: Honoring our Heroes This Memorial Day

It is the soldier, not the reporter, Who has given us freedom of the press
It is the soldier, not the poet, Who has given us freedom of speech
It is the soldier, not the organizer, Who has given us the freedom to demonstrate
It is the soldier, Who salutes the flag, Who serves beneath the flag, And whose coffin is draped by the flag, Who allows the protestor to burn the flag

Dem Strategist Joe Trippi: 'Political Malpractice' How the White House Has Handled These Scandals

Trippi believes that the White House has made a mistake by not getting the facts out rapidly, at the very beginning of all these scandals. The 'drip, drip, drip' Trippi says of information that is coming out is taking a toll on the administration and that criticism is  now 'crossing party lines.'  Administration need to 'reset'
