McConnell: 'There is An Obvious Culture of Intimidation Against Critics of the Administration' [Video]

Always has been.

yahoo news
Republican Senators Rand Paul, Mitch McConnell and Rob Portman continued Sunday to press the Obama administration on the Internal Revenue Service scandal that's engulfed the White House.

On CNN's "State of the Union," Paul told Candy Crowley he heard about a "written policy" that encouraged IRS officials to target "those who are critical of the president."

"And when that comes forward, we need to know who wrote the policy and who approved the policy," Paul said.

"Well, we keep hearing the reports and we have several specifically worded items saying who was being targeted," Paul said. "I don't know if that comes from a policy, but that's what's being reported in the press and reported orally. I haven't seen a policy statement, but I think we need to see that."
Memo or no memo,

McConnell said it's clear that political bullying is being cultivated by the Obama White House.

"There is a culture of intimidation throughout the administration," McConnell, the Senate Minority Leader, said on NBC's "Meet the Press" on Sunday. "The nanny state is here to tell us all what to do and if you start criticizing, you get targeted."

National Anthem FAIL [Video]

Oh my. I thought it was maybe gonna be a couple of words and she would get back on track. This thing is butchered severely. You think it's over and it keeps on going. This is last night's Memorial Cup between Portland and Halifax. Get ready

Jazz singer Alexis Normand garnered a penalty before a Saturday hockey game in Canada after slashing “The Star-Spangled Banner,” SI.com reports. Normand delivered an unforgettable version of America’s national anthem during a Memorial Cup round-robin game between the Halifax Mooseheads and the Portland Winterhawks in Saskatoon.

According to SI.com, Normand made it through the first few lines of the national anthem, but botched the line, “twilight’s last gleaming” with “twilight’s first gleaming.”

As Norman lapsed into a Hall of Fame meltdown, she mixed in various phrases at random, as well as mumbles and hums in an attempt to fill in the gaps. While some – including the players -- seemed amused, the crowd skated to the rescue, singing the words in an attempt to get Normand back on track.

Bob Schieffer on Scandals: Spare Me The Talking Points

President Obama part of 'Washington's fastest-growing club: the longer and longer list of officials who suddenly don't know much' about anything

When the burglars broke into Democratic Headquarters at the Watergate, a lot of us back then found it hard to believe. Why would anyone break into a political headquarters? What did they hope to find? Bumper stickers? Yard signs? Nobody is dumb enough to pull a stunt like that.

But they were! I admit I had about the same reaction when I first heard the IRS had gone after the tea party last year. The tea party? Surely no one could be dumb enough to think you could get away with that in an election year.

But they were! So, welcome to dumb and dumber. It did take awhile for the news to get to some quarters. We've heard that the President said he didn't find out about it until last week. Last week!

Which qualified him for Washington's fastest-growing club: the longer and longer list of officials who suddenly don't know much about a lot of unpleasant things, from Benghazi to the Associated Press investigation.

At this point, spare me the talking points and the excuses. No matter whether Republicans or Democrats are doing this kind of thing, this stuff is not just wrong, it's really stupid, and it will take more than firing a few temps and low-level bureaucrats to fix it.

The president won re-election with a smart political team, but the election is over. Maybe he should look now for people of substance who know about other things who could help him govern.

Dan Pfeiffer: "Irrelevant" Who Edited Benghazi Talking Points

White House senior adviser Dan Pfeiffer tells CBS Face the Nation's Bob Schieffer  that it's 'largely irrelevant' who edited the Benghazi talking points.

You know, Benghazi happened a long time ago....

Howard Dean: 'Benghazi is a Laughable Joke'

You thought Jay Carney was a hack? Watch this.

Howard Dean on Kudlow completely dismisses every current White House scandal
  • Benghazi pushed by Republicans has no traction, never did
  • IRS scandal is not gonna end up at the president's doorstep
  • We don't know what the AP stuff is
'I think to call all these scandals is a little on the silly side'  Deans says. He then calls Benghazi a 'laughable joke' in this debate with the RNC's Sean Spicer on CNBC's Kudlow. Wow.

FOX19 Cincinnati Uncovers 5th Local IRS Worker Allegedly Connected to Scandal

The IRS Commissioner said there were only 2 primarily responsible. Fox 19 reported Wednesday that there were 4 and Friday night uncovered another person connected to the targeting of conservative/Tea Party and pro-life groups by the Internal Revenue Service.

Fox Cincinnati explains what they've uncovered in their investigation. They now have the names of the groups who were targeted and the IRS workers
FOX19.com-Cincinnati News, Weather

CINCINNATI, OH-FOX19 has exclusively learned that as many as five people may be the first Cincinnati Internal Revenue Service (IRS) employees to face disciplinary action, and possibly even criminal charges, for allegedly targeting Tea Party and Liberty groups applying for non-profit status.

On Wednesday, the IRS announced that it had pinpointed two employees at the agency's Cincinnati office for being 'primarily' responsible.

In addition, acting IRS Commissioner Steven Miller resigned his position, revealed by President Obama on Wednesday.

Prior to his resignation, Steven Miller called the two Cincinnati employees 'rogue' and 'off the reservation,' adding that they were 'overly aggressive' in handling the requests from those conservative groups over the past two years.

Miller also added that those two employees have already been 'disciplined' by the agency.

However, despite the claim of just two employees being involved, FOX19 has exclusively learned from two separate sources that there could be at least four Cincinnati employees involved
