Rush: If Obama Really Cared About Unity, You Know What He Would Do? He'd Get Back Here For Those Police Officer's Funerals [Audio]

"The presidency, with the bully-pulpit and the moral authority that office has could be used to quell some of this, but we just don't see Obama doing it, do we..."

'There is No Place For This Kind of Tyranny in This Hemisphere': Flashback- When Candidate Obama Talked Tough on Cuba

"I will not stand for this injustice"

Tough talk on Fidel Castro, tough talk on Cuba when you're speaking in South Florida and your audience is Cuban Americans and you're looking for votes.

Obama at the Cuban Independence Day luncheon in 2008 at the Miami Intercontinental Hotel. Notice the tone-

Obama: "Throughout my entire lifestyle there has been injustice and repression in Cuba. Never in my lifetime have the people of Cuba known true freedom. Never in the lives up two generations of Cubans have the people all up Cuban on Democracy. This is the terrible and tragic status quo but we have known for half a century. Of elections there are anything but fair,  of dissidents locked away in dark prison cells for the crime of speaking the truth.  I won't stand for this injustice"

Video: Yazidis Cheer As Kurdish Peshmerga Fighters Retake Northern Iraqi Town of Sinjar

People cheer after Kurdish Peshmerga fighters took control Saturday of Sinjar, the northern Iraqi town that ISIS militants stormed this summer causing minority Yazidis to flee into nearby mountains and spawning a humanitarian crisis.

  'Many casualties'--

PESHMERGA COLONEL: "Peshmerga will continue pushing forward. Islamic State is being defeated and they have started to withdraw. They face a slight resistance and now they are fleeing and burning civilian homes. There was almost no resistance after their front lines collapsed. They started to flee and left behind 19 bodies. They have had many casualties."

Watch the video from Reuters--
The U.S. should be arming the Peshmerga forces with everything they need

Obama to Candy Crowley: Putin Hasn't Rolled Me

"The gist of it is that you're naive and they (Russia, Syria, Iran) are rolling you"

Watch- O sounds a little angry at Putin here (and glad Russian Ruble is collapsing)

CROWLEY:
"So let me move you on to the other big story that we've had, and that is your reach out or Cuba's reach to you and your reach to Cuba.

Listening to the critics, part of this is they wrap it up in how you dealt with other sort of bad actors. Oh, this is what he's done. He's accommodated Syria by not crossing the red line. He has accommodated Iran by talking to them on nuclear weapons. You know, and sort of down the line, Russia - he's allowed Putin to move in and take Crimea.

And here's the gist of it. The gist of it is that you're naive and they're rolling you"
OBAMA:
"So this was said about Mr. Putin, for example, three or four months ago. There was a spate of stories about how he is the chess master and outmaneuvering the West and outmaneuvering Mr. Obama and this and that and the other. And right now, he's presiding over the collapse of his currency, a major financial crisis and a huge economic contraction.

That doesn't sound like somebody who has rolled me or the United States of America"

Obama: Guantanamo Contrary to Our Values, Expensive

President Obama tells Candy Crowley that he's going to do everything he can to close Guantanamo because it's contrary to American values

"Guantanamo continues to inspire jihadists and extremists around the world, the fact that these folks are being held"
Really? People being held in Guantanamo inspires jihadists but U.S. drone strikes on terrorists doesn't?
"It's wildly expensive"
It sure is expensive, especially when the U.S. spent nearly a million dollars to give these Jihadists a new soccer field

Vladimir Putin Invites Kim Jong Un to Visit Russia

Another jab at the U.S.

washingtonpost
Officials in Moscow confirmed Friday that North Korean despot Kim Jong Un may attend ceremonies next year commemorating the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II.

It would be Kim's first public foreign visit since coming to power in December 2011.

"Yes, such an invitation was sent," confirmed Dmitry Peskov, a Kremlin spokesman, speaking to Reuters.

The news comes at a particularly conspicuous moment. On Friday, U.S. federal investigators accused North Korea of being behind the hacking attacking on Sony Pictures Entertainment.

An escalation of cyber threats has compelled Sony to cancel the release of "The Interview," a controversial comedy starring Seth Rogen and James Franco that depicts the two being sent on a mission to assassinate Kim.

'Merry Christmas' Sign on Side of Road Removed After One Person Complained (Video)

Imagine that. One week before Christmas, a sign says 'Merry Christmas' on the side of the road. How offensive.

CBS Boston
MARSHFIELD – Maybe it started when the Marshfield School Committee changed the name of the Christmas Break to the Holiday Break. Now, there seems to be a backlash in town.

“It’s a Christmas holiday, it’s a national holiday, not some random holiday,” said one man at the post office today.

Over the weekend, several DPW workers put an electronic sign on a friend’s property, right on the main road through the town. And the message? Merry Christmas.

“We work for the town, and we just wanted everyone to be in the Christmas spirit and there are few decorations,” said Steve Barber, a DPW worker.

But apparently, someone complained and sure enough, there are by-laws governing electronic signs. “We don’t object to the message,” said Building Commissioner Gerald O’Neill, “but the sign has to conform to size regulations, among other factors.”

So the sign had to go. But one DPW worker said next year, they’re going to put a large banner across Rt. 139. “There are fewer regulations about banners”, he said.

Watch the report-
The people who put up the sign are not happy.
