Kerry: Putin's Propaganda Bullhorn Isn't Fooling Anybody

Russia is "stoking the very instability that they say they want to quell"

Kerry's remarks hammering Putin and Russia actually went on for over 16 minutes. This is a clip where he called out Russian State-Run TV -RT as Putin's 'propaganda bullhorn' ...'playing out Putin's fantasy on the ground'

He says Russia is breaking its promises by failing to implement the terms of a deal struck in Geneva last week with the US, EU and Kiev
"For seven days Russia has refused to take a single concrete step in the right direction, not a single Russian official ... has publicly gone on television in Ukraine and called on the separatists to support the stand-down, to give up their weapons and get out of the Ukrainian buildings"
"No amount of propaganda will hide the truth," Kerry said, as he charged that Moscow was trying to create chaos in eastern Ukraine perhaps in a bid to give it an excuse for a full invasion of its neighbor

Michelle Obama Cancels Graduation Speech at Kansas High School

Topeka students circulated a petition asking the school board to reconsider an invitation to Michelle Obama, complaining that first lady's appearance would limit the number of people who could attend graduation.

They got 2,500 signatures and today, the WH announced that the graduation speech was canceled.
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - First lady Michelle Obama has switched her plans to address a high school commencement ceremony in Topeka, Kansas, in May after students protested that her presence would limit the number of family members they could invite to the ceremony.

Originally, the president's wife planned to speak to a joint commencement for students from the five high schools in the city, where 60 years ago the Supreme Court overturned laws that segregated black and white students in the landmark Brown v. Board of Education case.

But students raised concerns when they found out they would only be allowed to invite six family members to the ceremony because of space limitations. An online petition asking the school board to change the event attracted more than 2,500 signatures.

The first lady's office announced the change in schedule on Thursday.

She will instead address the students a day earlier, on May 16, at a joint event called "Senior Recognition Day," an accommodation that will allow all the schools to hold individual graduation ceremonies the following day with no restrictions on the number of guests.

Report: Obama Will Reject Keystone Pipeline After Midterm Elections

Doesn't matter that 61% support building the Keystone XL Pipeline

After five years of delays, reviews and excuses, President Obama has apparently “all but decided to deny the permit for the [Keystone XL] pipeline,” according to Rolling Stone author Jeff Goodell.

Goodell claimed that Obama’s decision really is about politics, despite claims from the administration and Democrats that was not the case.

“Although no final decision has been made, two high-level sources in the Obama administration told me recently that the president has all but decided to deny the permit for the pipeline – a dramatic move that would light up Democratic voters and donors while further provoking the wrath of Big Oil,” Goodell said.

Goodell said Obama’s motivation behind the pipeline decision came from two factors: The obvious first being what Goodell described as the “politics of climate change,” which is just code for money. Billionaire Tom Steyer is mentioned in the very next sentence.

Vice News Reporter Simon Ostrovsky Released By Pro-Russian Separatists in Eastern Ukraine

Vice News reporter Simon Ostrovsky was detained by pro Russia militants for 'bad activities' Monday. He has been released but reports are that he was beaten and blindfolded after he was kidnapped

Vice News reporter Simon Ostrovsky has been freed after being kidnapped by pro-Russian separatists in the Slaviansk city of eastern Ukraine, CBC News reporter J-Francois Belanger confirmed Thursday.

“Breaking: hostage Simon Ostrovsky is free and safe. He is with us in CBC car en route to Donetsk,” Mr. Belanger tweeted at 9:42 a.m.

“Simon Ostrovsky says he was beaten, blindfolded and hands tied at first, then treated well,” the reporter added.

Vice News later confirmed: “VICE News is delighted to confirm that our colleague and friend Simon Ostrovsky has been safely released and is in good health. We would like to thank everyone for their support during this difficult time. Out of respect for Simon and his family’s privacy, we have no further statement at this time.”

The U.S. State Department said Wednesday it was “deeply concerned” with reports about Mr. Ostrovsky’s situation.

Caroline Kennedy: 'I Hope' Hillary Clinton Runs For President

Caroline: I am 'absolutely' ready to back Hillary, you know.

Caroline Kennedy told ABC News she would back Hillary Rodham Clinton “if she runs” for president in 2016.

Clinton has said she will decide sometime this year whether to seek the presidency again. Kennedy, the U.S. ambassador to Japan and the daughter of President John F. Kennedy, told ABC’s Jonathan Karl that she’s ready to back Clinton in 2016 if that’s what Clilnton wants to do.

“I know it sounds like a cliché, but two years is a really long time in politics,” Kennedy said in the ABC News interview. “I’m sure she’s looking forward to being a grandmother, I know she’s got to decide soon. So, so you know I hope so.”

Kennedy gave then-Sen. Barack Obama a crucial and early endorsement in 2008 when he was battling Clinton for the Democratic presidential nomination. In an op-ed column for The New York Times, Kennedy said she believed Obama could energize young people the same way her father did when he was elected.

Obama: New Russia Sanctions Are "Teed Up" But There's Still Time For Vladimir Putin To Change Course

"Sanctions hurt Russia more than anybody else, but they're disruptive to the global economy, and they're unnecessary if in fact Russia would recognize that the government in Kiev is prepared to have serious negations that preserve the rights of all Ukrainians, including Russian speakers, and is prepared to decentralize in ways that originally Mr. Putin said were of utmost importance to him" -Obama News Conference in Tokyo

CBS News reported:
President Obama warned that the U.S. has prepared a fresh round of sanctions against Russia as a consequence for Moscow's refusal to condemn destabilizing violence in eastern Ukraine. But, he said, there is still time for Russian President Vladimir Putin to change course and uphold promises to engage with the Ukrainian government.

The heart of the problem, Mr. Obama said during a news conference in Tokyo, is that Russia has not abided "by the spirit or the letter" of an agreement brokered by diplomats in Geneva earlier this month that called for all illegally armed groups - including pro-Russian separatists -- to be disarmed and turn back control of buildings to authorities.

"We have been preparing for the prospect that we're going to have to engage in further sanctions. Those are teed up. It requires some technical work, and it also requires coordination with other countries," the president said.

But he made clear that the goal is not to levy the next round of sanctions as soon as possible, but rather "to change Mr. Putin's calculus" and find a diplomatic resolution to the crisis, particularly because of the ripple effect that could occur if the U.S. targets entire sectors of the Russian economy.

Captain Kirk For Clinton in 2016: William Shatner Says Hillary Is Only Person Who Can Unite The Country (VIDEO)

That would have to be from the evil Captain Kirk in episode 5, The Enemy Within.

Hillary Clinton uniting the country? You've got to be kidding. If Hillary is elected the country will be just as divided as it is today.

William Shatner did an interview with Jesse Ventura on ORA TV and said that Hillary Clinton is the only candidate, who can unite the political parties, because she understands how to compromise. 'And compromise makes a democracy' he says. 'Sounds like an endorsement of Clinton 2016 here.

The mellow, "peace now," countercultural, environmentally conscious “420” celebration deposited 10,000 pounds of garbage on what is known as Hippie Hill in Golden Gate Park, leaving volunteers and park workers to clean up the mess.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle’s website SF Gate, this year’s celebration drew a massive amount of revelers estimated at between 10,000 and 15,000. The pot smokers' untidiness will cost the city more than $10,000 in cleanup costs.

The immense load of empty bags of chips, candy wrappers, and snack containers left behind was evidence that it was indeed the remnants of weed smokers with a case of the munchies on steroids.

The SF Gate reported that one father, Dan Kling, who had taken his 2½-year-old daughter to the park for some family time, was repulsed by the behavior of the “420” partiers. Although he didn’t mind that there was a party, he objected to the pigsty that they left behind. "If you can't be responsible for yourselves, you can't have a party," he said.
