Newt Gingrich: Scalise Shooting Is Part of a Pattern of 'Increasing Hostility on the Left'

Newt on Fox News: This has been building since election night

Newt Gingrich said the shooting at congressional Republicans' baseball practice is part of a pattern of "an increasing intensity of hostility on the left."

House Majority Whip Steve Scalise is in stable condition after being shot when a 66-year-old male gunman opened fire on a congressional baseball practice in Alexandria, Virginia, early Wednesday morning. A congressional staffer and two Capitol police officers were wounded. The shooter, a Bernie Sanders supporter, died in a shootout with police.

On "Outnumbered," the former Speaker of the House said that the violent feelings of people who disagree with conservatives have been building since election night.

Gingrich recalled that he has been approached by both colleagues and college student Trump supporters who related they have been threatened for their political stance.
