5 months out from the election, it would be a waste of time and resources for Trump to think he can make NY turn red especially when there is Ohio, Virginia, Florida and other swings states to worry about. Obama carried NY by 28 in 2012 and 26 in 2008. Bill Clinton won NY by 16 and 19 points. It's not going anywhere but Dem, even if it's Trump home state.

Clinton led Trump 52 percent to 31 percent, slightly less than the 56 percent to 30 percent lead she held in early May, the poll found.
The poll showed a stark divide in different parts of the state. Trump held a 40 percent to 38 percent lead in upstate. Clinton held a 12-percentage-point edge in New York City suburbs and a 46 percentage-point lead in the city.
