It's not just Trump, Rove says the same about Ted Cruz.
Rove believes that any Republican candidate other than these 2 would have a better chance of beating Hillary in the general. Really? How's that?
I think he is just speaking out of his hatred for Cruz and Trump, not speaking strategically here.
Republican strategist Karl Rove said Friday that the Republican Party will lose the White House and many seats in Congress if Donald Trump wins the presidential nomination.
“If Mr. Trump is its standard-bearer, the GOP will lose the White House and the Senate, and its majority in the House will fall dramatically,” Rove wrote in an op-ed for the Wall Street Journal.
Rove also said that Republicans will lose the White House if Sen. Ted Cruz becomes the nominee.
“If the nominee is Ted Cruz the situation is still dicey,” he wrote. Rove said that all of the Republican presidential candidates, other than Trump and Cruz, have a chance at beating Clinton and keeping the Senate.
Rove also argued that, “if the GOP contest narrows to two or three candidates by March 15, Mr. Trump will not be the party’s nominee.”
