No word yet on an Independent run but Webb has ended his bid for the Democratic nomination
Former Virginia Sen. Jim Webb no longer intends to be a Democratic candidate for president, a Democratic source told ABC News today.
Webb announced on Monday that he’s considering an independent bid for the White House. Another source told ABC News that Webb has told the Democratic Party that he will not participate in any more Democratic debates.
Webb, who complained about not getting enough speaking time during last week’s first Democratic debate, is polling at 1 percent in the latest ABC News/Washington Post poll.
Webb's campaign spokesperson, Craig Crawford, told ABC News the announcement to consider an independent bid was "not sudden," and that he seen this coming for a while.
"The Democratic Party power structure has made it clear for a long time that this is not a level playing field,” he said about a potential independent bid.
