Sen. Rand Paul, a GOP presidential contender, told CBS’s “Face the Nation” on Sunday that the “pro-choice people” he’s talked to are “horrified” by the Planned Parenthood videos released recently which show Planned Parenthood officials discussing the sale of baby body parts.
“I think even pro-choice people are horrified by this. I know a lot of people on the whole spectrum of the abortion issue. I don't talk to any pro-choice friends who are not horrified by this,” said Paul, a medical doctor.
In the videos, produced by the California-based Center for Medical Progress, pro-life activists pose as potential buyers for a human biologics company.
“Planned Parenthood -- in the videos, where people at Planned Parenthood are talking about fetal tissue research, Planned Parenthood said they did nothing illegal, but you’d like to deny federal funding. How do you plan to do that?” host John Dickerson asked.
