Walmart: Sorry About the ISIS Cake

Walmart refused a man's request for cake with Confederate flag, but not this one, an ISIS black flag cake

Walmart announced last week it would no longer sell merchandise featuring the Confederate flag, but it never said anything about the ISIS flag. This fact has Louisiana's Chuck Netzhammer up in arms after the retailer refused to make a cake for him with the Confederate symbol on it—but did whip one up for him with the ISIS flag when he put in an order for that instead. In a YouTube video Netzhammer asks, "So Walmart, can you please explain why you're alienating Southern Americans with this trash that you allow to be sold in your store, while at the same point Confederate flag memorabilia is not allowed?"

The backstory: Netzhammer placed an order at the Slidell store for a cake with a Confederate flag, but the order form came back with the words "Cannot do cake," so Netzhammer decided to see how the store would react to an order for a cake featuring the ISIS battle flag instead—and he got his cake.

"WTF Walmart! ISIS is beheading Christians, selling little girls into slavery, and is currently a terrorist org at war with the United States … but you can't buy the General Lee toy car at Wallmart [sic]?" he writes in his YouTube description.

Walmart, for its part, admits the ISIS cake was made in error. "An associate in a local store did not know what the design meant and made a mistake. The cake should not have been made and we apologize," a spokesman tells ABC
