Senator Harry Reid Hospitalized in Nevada After Exercise Accident

Reid fell when a 'piece of equipment he was using to exercise broke'

Sounds like a treadmill.  Reid has broken bones in face and a number of broken ribs

Sen. Harry Reid is recovering in a Las Vegas hospital after he broke "a number of ribs and bones in his face," according to a statement his office released Friday.

The Nevada Democrat and outgoing Senate majority leader fell when a piece of equipment he was using to exercise at his home in Henderson broke.

Doctors expect him to make a full recovery, according to the statement. Security officers guarding Reid at the time of the fall first brought him to St. Rose Dominican Hospital in Henderson. Doctors then transferred him to the University of Medical Center in Las Vegas for further testing, where he stayed overnight "as a precaution," according to the statement.

Reid, who turned 75 in December, is expected to return to Washington this weekend and be ready for the Senate to start on Tuesday
