This is funny, it also drives home a point about Obama

From the National Republican Senatorial Committee

A Trip Down Memory Lane, Hate Filled Rhetoric From The Left That The Media Had No Problem With

There was a collective yawn from the left wing media during this period..

brain-terminal.com
Not too long ago, taking to the streets to protest your government was considered a patriotic act. It’s true! But it seems that publicly airing your grievances stopped being patriotic right around noon on January 20th, 2009.

Once President Obama was sworn in, protesting became incitement to violence.

If you’ve opened up a newspaper or watched a cable news program in the past week or so, you’ve probably seen members of the media painting Tea Party activists as dangerous bigots. That’s because disagreeing with President Obama on issues like government spending and high taxes makes you a racist, you see.

Senator Bob Corker: Health Reform Won't Be Repealed

Corker made the statement at Vanderbilt Univeristy...

nashville.bizjournals.com
U.S. Sen. Bob Corker said Wednesday that Republican efforts to repeal sweeping health care reform are futile, and instead promoted incremental fixes in a wide-ranging talk in Nashville.

In the immediate aftermath of the reform’s passage, many of Corker’s Republican colleagues, including 2008 presidential contender Sen. John McCain, have pledged to repeal the legislation. Corker described that as unlikely, given the reality of needing 67 votes in the Senate to overcome a presidential veto of repeal legislation.

The fact is that’s not going to happen, OK?” Corker told dozens of people at Vanderbilt University.

Still, Corker made clear his opposition to the legislation and spoke in favor of continued, incremental legislative reform in future years to correct problems he foresees.

Democrats have heralded reform for extending health insurance to the majority of Americans through a national exchange and various subsidies, eliminating the possibility of people being disqualified from coverage because of pre-existing conditions and other changes.

Democrats Also Used Targets and Bullseyes Against Republicans

The left wing media and the Democrats were outraged after Sarah Palin put this on her Facebook page:

h/t to Verum Serum

It looks like the Democrats did the same thing, this was the "targets for Democratic gains in 2004" from the Democratic Leadership Council,

And this from the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee

To quote a former Republican Presidential candidate: "Where's the outrage?"

Mike Pence Calls The President's Drilling Announcement a "Smokescreen"

You always have to ask, what's in the other hand? Who believes a word Obama says about anything?

Pence: "This is yet another feeble attempt to gain votes for the President's national energy tax bill that is languishing in the Senate"

washingtontimes
Pence: "As usual the devil is in the details. Only in Washington, D.C., can you ban more areas to oil and gas exploration than you open up, delay the date of your new leases and claim you’re going to increase production.

The President’s announcement today is a smokescreen. It will almost certainly delay any new offshore exploration until at least 2012 and include only a fraction of the offshore resources that the previous Administration included in its plan.

“Unfortunately, this is yet another feeble attempt to gain votes for the President’s national energy tax bill that is languishing in the Senate. At the end of the day this Administration’s energy plan is simple: increase the cost of energy on every family in America and trade American jobs oversees at a time when millions of Americans are looking for work.”

(Fresno) Bush Administration adviser Karl Rove was in Fresno today to promote his new book and raise some funds for a local political candidate. The controversial conservative had comments on a variety of current political issues.

Multimedia Watch The Video Rove is a polarizing figure among liberals and conservatives, and is commonly referred to as the architect of George W. Bush's political strategy
The left wing nut Jodie Evans from Code Pink proudly writes how she disrupted the Rove event in Beverly Hills yesterday:
EVANS: "After almost an hour of his lies I leapt up with a set of handcuffs and my full page arrest complaint followed immediately by the event security. I managed to get very close to Rove, even tricking the security to let go of me, causing Rove to dash away while I reached for his wrist with the hand cuffs.

My words followed him. But he only went a few steps and was greeted by Dede Miller, her nephew Casey Miller, son of Cindy Sheehan was killed in Iraq 6 years ago April 4th. She told him his lies killed her nephew while holding up a photo of Casey. Patricia Foulkrod, director of the Ground Truth stood by him with an Arrest the War Criminal banner as the event unraveled and he announced to the organizers it was over.
The nuts at Code Pink are now selling 'Arrest the War Criminal' playing cards and have Karl Rove as one of them...

Majority of Alaskans Want Sarah Palin to Stay in Politics

New poll of Alaskans finds 17% want her to run for President, 36% want her not to run but actively support candidates, 43% say stay out all together...

"Star power can benefit the [Alaska] economy"

ktuu.com
ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- Former Gov. Sarah Palin grabbed plenty of headlines this week, from announcing her new TV show to throwing her support behind former running mate John McCain and Tea Party conservatives. She's a polarizing national figure -- and a new poll shows more than half of Alaskans want to continue to see Palin in the spotlight.

According to a recent poll by the Dittman Research Corporation, 53 percent of Alaskans want Palin to stay politically active. Among respondents, 17 percent want her to run for president in 2012, while another 36 percent don't -- but they do want her to continue throwing her support behind political candidates. Some 43 percent of Alaskans polled said they want Palin to stay out of politics and not do anything at all.

Audio Tapes Made Public of Chicago Mayor Daley Asking For Help From LBJ in '68

"Mr. President, we're in trouble, we need some help." Johnson was ready to send National Guard troops even without a required Governors request...

Telephone conversations released Tuesday show Mayor Daley and President Johnson working to stem rioting in Chicago after the Rev. Martin Luther King's assassination in 1968
wgntv.com
In April of 1968, Chicago and other cities across the country slipped into a crisis as violence, rioting, looting and arson fires erupted following the murder of Dr. Martin Luther King in Memphis. Now, audio tapes are being made public of Mayor Daley's calls to President Lyndon B. Johnson asking for help to stop the violence.

The mayor wanted federal troops to descend on Chicago to restore order.Daley turned to Johnson who's supposed to act on a governor's request for aid.

However Governor Otto Kerner was out of state, and Lieutenant Governor Samuel Shaprio was acting governor at the time because of Kerner's absence.

Professor Dominic Pacyga of Columbia College told WGN NEWS that Johnson was ready to actually break the law by not receiving a request from a governor, and telling then Attorney General Ramsey Clark to prepare five-thousand troops stationed in California to start heading to Chicago.

Both Daley and Johnson were trying to avoid the kind of headlines the president was seeing in Washington, D.C. where riots had already broken out following King's assassination. Johnson told Daley the headlines in the nation's capitol were asking if too little was done too late to stop the violence.

Mainstream Media Outraged Over Tea Party Protests, But Silent About Far-Left Hatred

Media silent on far left hate...

"This is a media scandal, one side get scrutinized the other side gets a pass"

Here's another example from newsbusters
"Not Interested": NBC, CBS Skip Arrest of Man Plotting to Kill Eric Cantor
CBS's Early Show and NBC's Today on Tuesday ignored the arrest of a man who was plotting to kill Republican Congressman Eric Cantor. ABC's Good Morning America mentioned the story only in a news brief in the 8am hour. Last week, however, GMA highlighted threats against Democrats and worried about "angry talk" from Sarah Palin.

The Early Show may have ignored the story of Norman Leboon and the violent, profanity-laced rants he posted online about the "evil" Cantor, but the same show on Tuesday did note the guilty plea of a man who threatened Barack Obama.

O'Reilly Pledges to Pay $16k Court Cost That Father of Killed Marine Was Ordered to Pay Westboro Church

Story from the baltimoresun
Lawyers for the father of a Marine who died in Iraq and whose funeral was picketed by anti-gay protesters say a court has ordered him to pay the protesters' appeal costs. On Friday, the Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit ordered that Albert Snyder of York, Pa., pay costs associated with Fred Phelps' appeal.

Phelps is the leader of the Westboro Baptist Church, which conducted protests at the funeral of Snyder's son, Marine Lance Cpl. Matthew Snyder, in Westminster in 2006.Lawyers for Snyder say the Court of Appeals has ordered him to pay $16,510.80 to Phelps for costs relating to the appeal, despite the fact that the U.S. Supreme Court has agreed to review the Court of Appeals' decision.
The Father of the Marine killed has told Foxnews that he will defy the court order to pay the appeals costs of the protesters

Cars Towed at Beck Rally After ‘Tow Away Zone’ Sign Appears ‘Out of Nowhere’

breitbart.tv
“We clearly came in from this direction and that’s the first thing you’d see. It’s not hiding. It’s clearly right there and says tow away zone. But that sign was not there. Right here in its place said event parking."

myfoxorlando
ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. Many Glenn Beck fans are furious after dozens had their cars towed while attending a weekend rally at the University of Central Florida for the popular talk show host.

By the time they returned from the event, their cars were gone. And they said a "tow away zone" sign mysteriously appeared, "out of nowhere"

This happened near the Kappa Sigma fraternity house along Greek Avenue near the UCF campus in Orlando

“We clearly came in from this direction and that’s the first thing you’d see. It’s not hiding. It’s clearly right there and says tow away zone. But that sign was not there. Right here in its place said event parking,” said Mike Vedder, whose car was towed. “Obviously, there was a sign directing us right into the parking lot.”

In back of the fraternity house, a black and white sign clearly reads “tow away zone,” along with a “no parking” sign posted by the fraternity.

But dozens said there was a yellow event parking sign like, leading them into an adjacent lot.

Right there where that tow-away sign was there was a yellow sign with dark font that said, ‘event parking,’ with an arrow pointing right,” said Albert Brumfield, who shot video of the signs with a camera.

The Media's New Smear Campaign Against Sean Hannity

MSNBC low life Dylan Ratigan yesterday

Going after the Freedom Concerts that Hannity promotes could be a new low water mark

newsbusters
MSNBC host Dylan Ratigan on Monday eagerly attempted to convict Sean Hannity for the supposed misuse of funds by a pro-troop organization he supports, a claim already investigated and debunked. The anchor highlighted complaints against the Freedom Alliance group by the George Soros-backed Center for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW), but never identified their liberal tilt.

Ratigan promoted CREW's assertions that the Freedom Concerts, which the Fox News host promotes, aren't giving all the money they take in to scholarships for the families of fallen soldiers. He sneered, "Hey, what the heck? You come up with a good cause. Give ten or 15 percent away and keep the rest for yourself. What do I know?" Not much, apparently. The MSNBC anchor made almost no effort to offer Hannity's side of the story or that of the Freedom Alliance.
Brent Bozell blasts the left in a new article:
"Sean Hannity has raised millions of dollars to support the families of fallen heroes. He's criss-crossed the country countless times not just raising this money, but raising awareness for this noble cause. He's done it all for free. And more: He's donated, I'm told, hundreds of thousands of dollars personally to this cause. It's time for conservatives to rally around this man"

Rove was forced to leave the stage

cbs2.com
About 100 fans came out to hear Karl Rove at the Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills Monday night to discuss his book "Courage and Consequences," but the fight wasn't contained to his book. Anti-war protesters came out, some rushing the stage, to call Rove a "war criminal" and worse.

The fans came to get their books signed, but they never got that chance. One woman, the co-founder of the anti-war group Code Pink, approached him with handcuffs and said she was there to make a citizen's arrest. Jodie Evans charged him with "outing a CIA agent...Rove "was shouted down and forced to leave the stage."Another woman screamed at Rove.

There were several heated exchanges between Rove and his critics before he decided he had enough and he left the stage. He called one detractor a "lunatic." He told several others repeatedly to "get the heck out of here."Bryan reported that security was apparently lacking and Rove was "left to fend for himself."

"We live in a very intense country, a very difficult time. CNN does not reflect that urgency. They basically report the news. And they do a good job. If you watched their Haiti coverage, it was excellent.

"But people in the United States now...they want analysis and perspective from a cable network, particularly in prime time...CNN doesn't give you that, so that's why they have fallen off dramatically. Programs like Larry King are a shadow of what they used to be.

"MSNBC made the key mistake of hiring bad people. It's as simple as that. Rasmussen: Health Care Law: One Week Later 54% Favor Repeal of the Bill

Even 1/4 of Democrats favor repeal

60% believe it will increase the federal budget deficit

rasmussenreports
One week after the House of Representatives passed the health care plan proposed by President Obama and congressional Democrats, 54% of the nation's likely voters still favor repealing the new law. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey shows that 42% oppose repeal.

Repeal is favored by 84% of Republicans and 59% of unaffiliated voters. Among white Democrats, 25% favor repeal, but only one percent (1%) of black Democrats share that view.Only 17% of all voters believe the plan will achieve one of its primary goals and reduce the cost of health care. Most (55%) believe it will have the opposite affect and increase the cost of care.

Forty-nine percent (49%) believe the new law will reduce the quality of care. Sixty percent (60%) believe it will increase the federal budget deficit. Those numbers are consistent with expectations before the bill was passed.
4* Under the new health care reform plan, will the quality of health care get better, worse, or stay about the same?

A 33-year-old Pennsylvania man has been arrested for threatening to kill Virginia Rep. Eric Cantor, the number two Republican in the House of Representatives, the Justice Department announced Monday.

Norman Leboon, a resident of Philadelphia, was charged in a two-count complaint with threatening to kill Cantor and his family. Leboon made the threat in a YouTube Internet video sent to Google earlier this month, according to a Justice Department news release.
STATEMENT FROM THE OFFICE OF ERIC CANTOR
“Over the weekend, Congressman Cantor was notified by law enforcement that a threat was made against his life. Law enforcement officials informed Congressman Cantor that the threat was determined as credible and they were responding accordingly," Cantor's Press Secretary Brad Dayspring said in a statement. "The Congressman was later notified that an arrest was made and a suspect was in custody."

Last weekend, as the House of Representatives gathered to debate health care reform while Tea Partiers protested outside the Capitol, word emerged that Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (D-Mo.) had been spit on by one of the demonstrators.

Cleaver released a statement confirming the incident, but some questioned his claims. Fox News personality Sean Hannity asked if there was any evidence proving that it had actually happened, and Tea Party groups offered a cash reward for proof.

Now video has emerged. Take a look and judge for yourself:

It should be pointed out that Rep. Cleaver (at 2:38) walks back out and down the steps with a different Capitol Police officer, the alleged spitter (sprayer) is right in front of them (guy in black shirt and tan hat). Cleaver then goes back into the building accompanied by the police officer.

DeMint: "The President has burned a lot of bridges"

Demint of recess appointments: "The President is mocking Americans who continue to be against this bill"
(CBS) Republican Senator Jim DeMint accused President Barack Obama of "mocking Americans" who are opposed to the Democrats' health care reform bill, and suggested that, as characterized in his recess appointments, circumventing Congress has become the president's style.

On CBS' "Face the Nation" Sunday, DeMint, R-S.C., who had previously claimed that the health care reform battle would be Mr. Obama's Waterloo, declined to admit that the president won his Waterloo.

"We'll find out in November who won or lost this battle," he told host Bob Schieffer.

Saying that more than 60% of Americans want Republicans to continue to fight the bill, even though it was signed into law by the president last week, DeMint said that the law should be repealed.
"I want to repeal it; I want to replace it with real reform that puts patients in charge of their health care again," DeMint said.

Searchlight Tea Party, Video of the Sky Writers

There were pictures of this yesterday, today there's video..."No New Taxes, No Bailout"...pretty cool

From the video:
Shot of the sky writers at the Searchlight Nevada Tea Party. I couldn't see anything while shooting this, but it came out pretty good anyway. Amazing work by these 5 pilots. (Wind noise.)

(Unrelated) I added this video, here is the Tea Party Express bus that had been egged by Reid supporters, you'll see it clearly starting at 1:20 (I don't know why there's no sound)

Peggy Noonan: "Conservatism Has Within it the Spirit of a Rebellion"

"And that's not a good thing"

ABC News This Week Roundtable on Sarah Palin...A lot of people wonder what in the world is she talking about?
TAPPER: Peggy, is Sarah Palin doing any good for John McCain out there?

NOONAN: I think she is there for a number of reasons. Her strategic purpose, I guess, is to give him right-wing street cred that over 30 years

TAPPER
: Interesting term.

NOONAN: Yes. And that over 30 years he has lost. However, the very tea party itself, this is a rising up of people who have not always previously been in politics. There are a lot of women in it, a lot of activists. They are going, they are perhaps part of a reconstituted and changing, ever changing big tent.

I don't happen to see the conservative movement as becoming a smaller tent, but I do see, I think, sometimes a tendency to forget that conservatism, apart from being a great political philosophy, has within it the spirit of a rebellion. Sometimes, lately, it seems to take on the spirit of an orthodoxy, do you know what I mean, and of a strict ideology. That is not a good thing. Let a thousand flowers bloom.

Rasmussen: Tea Party Has Much Better Understanding of Issues than Congress

rasmussenreports
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 52% of U.S. voters believe the average member of the Tea Party movement has a better understanding of the issues facing America today than the average member of Congress.

Only 30% believe that those in Congress have a better understanding of the key issues facing the nation.

When it comes to those issues, 47% think that their own political views are closer to those of the average Tea Party member than to the views of the average member of Congress. On this point, 26% feel closer to Congress.

Finally, 46% of voters say that the average Tea Party member is more ethical than the average member of Congress. Twenty-seven percent (27%) say that the average member of Congress is more ethical.
1* When you think about the major issues facing the country, whose views are closest to your own – those of the average Tea Party member or those of the average member of Congress?

2* Who has a better understanding of the problems America faces today – the average Tea Party member or the average member of Congress?

3* Who is more ethical – the average Tea Party member or the average member of Congress? (Not even close)

Crist: "I'm running as a Republican"

Obama Makes Surprise Visit To Kabul Afghanistan

I'm glad, now maybe the commanders on the ground can ask him why he dithered for 93 days after General McChrystal requested more troops...

I would have to say, brilliant move yesterday, making 15 recess appointments right before you leave for Afghanistan knowing that tomorrow's arrival in Kabul would trump yesterday's news. That's Clintonesque...

President Obama has landed at Bagram Air Force Base in Afghanistan for a surprise visit to that country.

Obama made a surprise and secret visit to Baghdad last April and addressed U.S. troops at Camp Victory.

Today, Obama is scheduled to meet with Afghan President Hamid Karzai and members of the Afghan cabinet and to address U.S. troops at Bagram Air Base.

After a lengthy strategy review last fall, Obama announced in December that he was ordering a troop surge in Afghanistan to target insurgents and secure key areas here.
CNN reports that Obama left for the trip around 10:30p.m.Eastern last night, here's a report from AP

Raw Video: Man Who Heckled Sarah Palin in Arizona is a Ron Paul Supporter, Says: "I'm Trying To Save America"

He's told to put his hands behind his back and says "freedom of speech"...After arrest says "I'm trying to save America, I like America, I like Americans, I just don't like John McCain"

"I don't like Obama, I don't like McCain, I like Ron Paul...

Another Video of John Lewis Walking Through Protesters

Again, no audio of any racial slurs. The video also shows Rep. Jesse Jackson with 2 cameras recording the entire walk from across the street. Keep your eye on Jackson..

A few questions need to be asked,
1. Why was Jackson recording the walk? He happened to be behind Lewis, was he expecting something?
2 Why would Jackson turn the camera multiple times right into the protesters faces?
3. Why has Jackson not been asked to turn over the videos? The alleged racial slurs (15 of them) would have to be caught on tape
4 Why hasn't Congressman John Lewis been asked exactly where the incidents took place during his walk, so that the person who made slurs can be pointed out, being that there are at least 5 videos, surely Lewis would remember.

The man who shot the video is about 5 steps up from the guy who was yelling (alleged spitting) at Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (This screen shot was taken from another video shows exactly where the guy was at on the steps)

Here's another view of the steps, the arrow is where the video is taken

Good Point Mike Huckabee: Obama Should Be Worried About Bombs Being Built in Iran, Not Bedrooms in Jerusalem

"The fact that the Israeli's want to build in their capital, good for them"
Huckabee: "Outrageous treatment of one of the few friends we have on a the planet. The Israeli's are our friend and I'll tell you, the fact the Israeli's want to build in their capital, good for them...They're building bedrooms in Jerusalem, they're building bombs in Iran, be worried about the bombs in Iran, not the bedrooms in Jerusalem"
The current situation between the United States and Israel is not surprising. With Obama, you always have to ask what's in the other hand? It's obvious, Obama doesn't see Netanyahu as a friend and ally, as evidenced by the recent treatment last week, no press, no photos. I think behind the scenes, the Administration is happy that they are building settlements in Jerusalem, it gives Obama a ticket to be on bad terms with Benjamin Netanyahu and Israel.

GOP Weekly Address: "Democrats Decided To Go the Partisan Route and Blatantly Ignore the Will of the People"

"Seniors aren't popping champagne corks at more than a half a trillion in Medicare cuts"

"Republicans are committed to repealing this bill and replacing it with common sense solutions"
McConnell: "In one of the most divisive legislative debates in modern history, Democrats decided to go the partisan route and blatantly ignore the will of the people. Americans opposed this legislation, and, now theyre clamoring to see it repealed and replaced.

Democratic Leaders and White House officials may be celebrating their victory this week, but most of the rest of the country is not. Most people arent interested in celebrating a bill that makes their lives more complicated, takes more out of their paychecks and puts decisions theyre used to making themselves into the hands of federal bureaucrats."

White House Gatecrashers Get Rewarded With Reality T.V. Gig

Michaele will be on the "Real Housewives of D.C." They will hit the road to promote the show, also writing a tell-all book...

Bad behavior gets rewarded....

nydailynews
The White House gatecrashers are being rewarded for their cheesy chutzpah with a gig on reality TV. Michaele Salahi, 44, will be one of the "Real Housewives of D.C.," the Daily Beast reported Friday.

That means we'll also be seeing a lot of Salahi's pudgy husband, Tareq, 41, in the upcoming Bravo series. The Virginia-based social climbers got the instant fame they'd been craving when they bluffed their way into President Obama's first State Dinner last November.

The Bravo cameras were already trailing the Salahis and recorded some of the stunt, which ultimately cost White House social secretary Desiree Rogers her job. The fakers were even photographed doing the grip and grin with an unsuspecting Obama.

The Secret Service didn't realize they'd been snookered until after Michaele Salahi posted photos of the herself at the fete on her Facebook page. "These people should not have gotten through the gate," an irked Obama later said in a "60 Minutes" interview.

The Salahis pleaded the Fifth in January when a House committee tried to quiz them about how they got into the soiree without invitations. They remain under investigation by a federal grand jury.

Meanwhile, the Salahis are preparing to hit the road to promote the show, which is expected to premiere in July. That includes a May 27 appearance on the "Today" show with Matt Lauer. The Salahis are also writing a tell-all book.
The pictures of the Salahis crashing the State Dinner are still proudly up on their facebook page..
